We are excited to announce the all-new Document sharing & management module in today’s release of MangoApps.   The  New Document Management module brings Windows Explorer like familiar interface for accessing, storing & collaborating on your enterprise files & folders on the Web.

Windows Explorer Like Interface for Easy Document Sharing

All new Document Sharing & Management module brings following capabilities to MangoApps:

• File Management capability available in windows explorer interface & the file viewer to users
  • Upload File
  • Download a File
  • Share a File
    • Internally with colleagues
    • Email as a link to external users
  • Upload new version
  • Move a file
  • Delete a file
  • Add Tags to a file to get quick access to it via search
  • Start a huddle with file collaborators
• File Collaboration capabilities available to the users  (*)
  • Tasks modules on files
  • Comments module on a file
  • Ability to enable / disable comments on a file
  • Ability to turn on/off email as a link to external users from Admin portal
• Additional File functionality available to user on File Viewer page
  • View a list of all tasks on a file (*)
  • View & get access to view or download older versions of a file
  • View who accessed a file at any time
  • View a list of user entered comments on a file (*)
• Role management per file
  • There are 3 types of roles that the user can add/edit/delete on a file
    • Owner
    • Editor
    • Viewer
    • Different actions are available for these different roles on a file
• Folder Management capability available with just 1 right click in the tree on a folder. This includes:
  • Ability to create a new folder
  • Download all the files in a folder
  • Upload files into a folder
  • Move a folder
  • Delete of a folder
  • Rename of a folder
• For fast access to the files that matter to you:
  • Pre-defined filters for files your own are separated from the ones that are    shared with you.
  • Sorting on all the file names, size, modified on & modified by
  • Filtering capabilities to see only your files or all files
  • Pagination control to users to see more files per page
• Search capability on files
  • Users have the ability to search at multiple levels
    • Within the files that the user owns
    • Within the files that have been shared with the user
    • All files that the user has access to
  • Search uses file name and tag names to find the files.

Files Dashboard & Recent Activities:

• See a list of all activity on your files
  • Ability to get a list of file that the user recently uploaded
  • Ability to get a list of files the user recently accessed
• File viewer of a file that is shared with a project/group/document is available to guest user
• File viewer of a file that is shared via email with an external user is available to the user without him having an account in MangoApps. This user can’t download the file

Richer feed view for files:

• Ability to download the file from the feed itself
• Ability to share a file from the feed itself
• Ability to upload a new version of the file from the feed itself
• Ability to get to the file details page from the feed view.

Dear MangoApps User,

In keeping with our 2-3 week release cycle and continuous improvements, our mid November release brings a large set of enhancements and new features across all MangoApps.

GUI Enhancements

• 1-Click collapsible menu on your dashboard to give you extra space to read the latest updates.
• The same 1-Click collapsible menu appears on your wiki pages too to help you see more of the wiki content now.
• The collapsed menu is smart to allow you to navigate the list of wikis pages or the different filters on the dashboard without having to expand the navigation control everytime.

Events Enhancement

• Ability to add an event to a calendar of your choice
  • Outlook Calendar
  • Google Calendar
  • iCal Calendar
• As an event organizer you & your guests can do so right from the event feed or from the event details page at anytime time.
• Ability to export the full month calendar for iCal & Outlook is also available

Profile Enhancement

• You activity & your wall are now merged to be one tab. So all activities that you participated (posted an update, wrote a comment or liked an update) will appear in you’re Activity tab.
• Ability to quickly Follow (or unfollow) a person from the profile page which a new button below the profile picture

Files enhancement:

• Administrator now have the configuration capability to turn on or off MangoApps in-built file viewer to view 300+ document types which includes Office documents, Open Office, PDF, Images, AutoCAD files etc., However if as an administrator you decide to turn it off then a default image based on content type is displayed to the user.
• Quick Access to key file actions like – Upload new version, Download, Preview, Share now available in the feed with the files.
• Bug Fixes

Tasks enhancements:

• The field to enter the task name now auto-expands as more text is entered in it.
• Notes column is now relabelled to be “Comments”. Anything entered here comes as a comment in the task.

Misc Items:

• Better profile, group & project picture containers to enhance the look of your pages
• Dahboard, Profile Details Page, Group Details Page, Project Details Page – All now have titles to indicate the current tab or filter that is selected
• Feeds look cleaned up to show the time along with the feed actions and an icon for the platform from where the feed or feed comment was posted
• Feeds in private groups & projects now show up with the lock icon only.
• On the dashboard the Wall filter on LHS is now My Activity & Wall filter.
• Send Messages now is removed as My Activity & Wall filter has the feeds you send
• Apps Dashboard now available as an explicit 1^st item under Apps menu for easy access
• Improved highlighting of the current project status on the project details page
• Default Projects will get created only in MangoProjects & MangoSuite new domains

MangoApps Web Parts:

• MangoApps Group web part & Project web parts are now available. Companies can  signup for MangoApps open API and then after proper authentication with MangoApps can embed MangoApps Group or Project module on their Intranet

Management Interface update:

• Ability to create a private domain from the MangoApps Mgmt Interface is now available. This is for private cloud or in-premise edition of software only. The domain URL is also customizable to be anything that the user wants from this interface.

Desktop:

• Ability to Share a file internally with colleagues or external users (no sign-in required) is now available from desktop file manager also.
• Based on network setting open in in-built file viewer will be available
• Bug Fixes

Performance Improvements:

• Reduction in the Javascript download package size
• Fixed issues around cookie management to reduce the amount of cookies being passed back & forth
